AMACS NX ShipBuilder™ is the shipbuilding application of the AMACS platform, operating natively inside Siemens NX. It applies adaptive, datum-driven control to the realities of ship plate fabrication, module assembly, and yard-level integration.
Shipbuilding is fundamentally different from traditional manufacturing. Large steel plates and modules are fabricated in one environment, transported, staged, re-measured, and assembled in another—often with distortion introduced at every step. The system can support traditional optical tooling systems, electronic theodolites, laser trackers, photogrammetry, laser scanning, structured-light scanning, and high-density LADAR measurement platforms.
Whether the application requires millimeter-level positioning of large ship modules, sub-millimeter verification of fabricated structures, or micron-level alignment and re-registration for advanced manufacturing and robotic operations, the Anchor provides a persistent physical reference framework that remains associated with the structure throughout its lifecycle.
